I traveled with my three kids and I took three cart seats with me, I was concerned Because I didn't want to take too many things with me, and I've found this bags and worked great, I have two nuna cart seats and one Graco, all of them fitted perfectly, and the cart seats were perfect, 0 damage, I highly recommend this if you're planning to take the cart seats with you and send them to checked bags.
I ordered this seat protector (and another) for a return stretch of flights on a recent family trip in which I had two toddlers solo. The bag was gate checked on two flights and held up well except for a fabric tear on the front end of the bag. The way I look at it is the bag did it’s job and protected my kiddos seat from getting slammed around during flight; which is why I ordered it.
The materials are really nice, sewn well, I really like that the back pack straps can be stored and that there is a waist clip (which helped tremendously). But my favorite feature is the nice padding and the internal harness strap to keep the seat extra secure inside the bag. There are two mesh pockets on the side that held a water bottle for me nicely. The nonskid bottom feet are nice and probably helped keep the bottom of the bag from getting damaged in flight or snagged.
While traveling we used this with a Graco Contender car seat. I also took pictures of the protector bag with our everyday seat, a Nuna Rava. The weight difference of these two seats is pretty great. The Nuna is very heavy but the bag handles it well and the addition of the waist strap would have made this bearable for me in the airport if I had traveled with it.
Overall, I recommend this seat protector! I’ve had a few in the past and by far the quality of this one is superior. I also highly recommend getting a structured and padded bag for your seat and to gate check the seat instead of bag checking them. Hoping this review helped and wishing you happy travels ahead! Traveling with car seats is possible and you can do it!
Very nice thick material. Has straps inside to hold the car seat so its not sliding around. Plenty of room for a big car seat. I love that there are optional shoulder straps on the back and each one has a pouch for them to be tucked in when not in use so they don't get caught on things. I also love that its a dark color and won't show any dirty spots from traveling. Wish i had one of these 9 years ago! Great buy!
I really wanted to like this because I also have a Hap Tim baby bag and all of their products are well made and sturdy. It has a lot of great features such as being able to tuck the straps away when you check the bag, the reinforced bottom material and legs, and thick/cushioned shoulder straps.
However, there are a few cons. As many have mentioned, the bag is slimmer than other car seat bags and will either fit just right or be too snug and won't zip, depending on your car seat. For me, that wasn't an issue. Instead, it personally didn't sit high enough on my torso and the bottom hung too low, resting/digging on the top of my buttocks. It sat on my back the way the cheaper fabric car seat bags did and I could instantly tell that I would not be comfortable walking with this to the airport or the rental car while traveling.
I actually purchased two different car seat bags to try because I wanted to test them both on my body type. I'm 5'1" and 122lbs, so I wanted to make sure I was comfortable wearing this and pushing a stroller and luggage around. It's not made for short petite people, so I ended returning this and keeping the other YH&GS bag sold by Rucyen which fit my frame better.
My advice would be to order this and another option to test them both out. If you're not my frame, this might be perfect. It does have a lot of great features that the others don't have. BUT if you're petite like me, then I wouldn't recommend it.
It’s a bit of false advertising to say it is padded because it really isn’t padded much…. We bag checked our graco extend2fit convertible car seat in this bag and had the employee put a fragile tag on it. We got the car seat back in perfect condition. I would suggest using a ziptie or lock to hold the zippers together as they kept wanting to slide apart
